Blood Work, Guido’s excursion to Boat, Daughters

This morning, I could hardly go to have my blood drawn, as my stomach was acting up.  I finally made it, but it was also bad because the first nurse could not get my vein and she had to ask another one to do it.  After a few trials and poking around, she got it. Let’s hope it is worth the trouble.  All this is for Dr. Hedaya.

Guido was very happy about his “excursion” to the boat yesterday.  Our daughters had sent him a present about two years ago – a teak table and two chairs from Valerie’s design center.  He could finally unpack them, as he had help from Dr. Goodman.  Now he found out that Dr. Goodman’s partner loves boats and is very good with them. I may have found a reprieve, finally, at least until I can become first mate – grudgingly…

We are getting close to another weekend, which is not good for me, as I need to do things every day and sometimes I can’t.  Weekends are difficult, and I don’t like going to the grocery stores then.

Friends have been great, helping Rosana with her great project.  She has signed up for a “solarthon” for GRID Alternatives, a nonprofit that helps low-income families get solar and save money on energy. Please consider sponsoring her:

I have to admit that my daughters make me really proud, as they spend much time volunteering to help those in need.  I am happy knowing that we raised them well!!!!  Now, we need a nice guy to come out of the woods and partner with beautiful Valerie…

About martisima

After over 50 years of teaching literature to undergraduate and graduate students, I feel I have earned my retirement (it happened when I was 72, five years ago). I do miss the classroom, however, but not the meetings and all other requirements of the profession. I love teaching, and wish I could still do it. But now I read for pleasure, and watch films, and listen to all kinds of music (no TV, though). I love to travel, and hope I can resume doing it soon. I need to get over my health issues caused by thyroid surgery three years ago!
