Weekends are not good for us. Some friends “disappear”. Doctors are not available. People rest. We don’t need to rest. We rest enough every day, anyway. More than we’d like. People wish us a good weekend. What plans do you have? No mail on Sunday. What am I expecting, anyway?
Weekends are good for us. Many friends who are busy during the week are available. Some come and bring us food. Others call. Especially our daughters. We can sleep late and not feel guilty, even though it’s the same on weekdays, but not every day. There is less traffic in the street. No garbage or recycling collection trucks. No school buses. No crazy speeders who think our street is a race track, even with the speed bumps!
We are lucky. We do not care if it is sunny or stormy. We don’t have to go anywhere!
